Seven years ago Lynda Whiting and David Fioritto met while performing for out-of-town producers, “The Lab of the Rippers Mystery Company,” which produced murder mysteries for several Ohio Spaghetti Warehouses.  Lynda had written the Christmas show for "The Rippers" producer “Terri Dublin” which was well received.  She had completed a script for the next show and the cast had begun rehearsing when they were informed that “The Rippers’ would not be producing Lynda’s next script, but instead would dust off a mystery that had been produced three years earlier.  The cast was aghast when they read the script which was loaded with jokes about PMS and feminine hygiene products and “were not amused!”  Toledo actors including Rick Woods, Mary Retort-George and Denny Corathers decided not to perform the loathsome script, and Lynda politely informed “The Rippers” that the cast would not be returning.  This was three weeks before the new show was to open.  "Terri Dublin" for some reason was insulted!  She had some clause in her contracts that none of us had ever signed that required 30 days notice for us to quit!  We were independent contracters, not employees!  "Terri" had also previously fired an entire Toledo cast with no notice.
As punishment for quitting with only three weeks notice “The Rippers,” who paid actors at the end of their two month runs, refused to pay the entire cast for the dozens of public shows and private holiday parties they had performed!  Nice move right before Christmas Mrs. Scrooge!  That was to be her downfall in Toledo as word spread that the murder mystery actors had been “stiffed” by "The Rippers!"  Not one Toledo actor showed up for their next audition and "The Rippers" were forced to take a hiatus in Toledo.  Lynda and David approached the Toledo Spaghetti Warehouse managers, offered to put up their show and Random Acts was born!  Lynda and David quit their day jobs two years ago and now work full-time as a Traveling Interactive Musical Murder Mystery Troupe and employ approximately 30 actors part-time.  Random Acts travels throughout the Midwest performing for Corporate Team Building Events and custom designing entertainment for restaurants, hotels, casinos, country clubs, trains, colleges, elementary and high schools, zoos, retirement homes and cruise lines.
