Grant spent his high school and early college years as a dancer in various street dancer groups as a "Pop-Locker." He then delved into the world of Hip-Hop as a rapper, performing with groups and as a soloist. He performed on the mic and experienced marginal success on a regional level and became the Hip-Hop music critic for The Toledo Blade. At this point he was no longer living the Hip-Hop life, and sought another creative outlet for his talents. He began acting with the "New Works Writers Series" in 1996. "New Works" is the oldest continually operating African-American Theatre Troupe in North-West Ohio, now going into its thirteenth year of existence. With this troupe, headed by Dr. Imelda Hunt, Grant has performed in over 35 shows including "Raisin In The Sun," playing Walter Lee Younger, "Flyin' West," portraying Frank Charles and "The Resurrection of Malcom X, in the role of Malcolm X. Grant recently performed in the University of Toledo's hilarious production of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged.)
